Inglés para camareros

¿Estás pensando en emprender nuevos retos en países de habla inglesa? Si actualmente eres camarero, o si te gustaría ejercer de ello en  un país de habla inglesa para practicar el idioma, aquí te dejamos algunas frases muy útiles para que te ayuden en tu comienzo.

Importante saber que el menú se compone de:

  • STARTER (primeros platos o entrantes): salads, soups,…
  • MAIN COURSE (segundo plato o plato principal): meat, fish…
  • DESSERTS (postres): pudding, ice cream, cakes…

*SIDE ORDERS: (acompañamientos para platos principales): chips, rice, salad.

A continuación te dejamos una pequeña simulación:

Waiter: Good afternoon/ evening. Can I get you anything to drink?

Customer: Yes please, could I have… (a coke, glass of wine, pint of beer) ?

W: Would you like to see the menu? Would you like any appetizers to begin with?

C: Yes, that would be lovely.

…………………. (5 mins later)……………….

W: Are you ready  to order?

C: Yes, I would like __________________, please?

W: Of course / Absolutely. Would you like anything else?

……………………… (After finishing the meal)……………………..

W: Would you like to see the dessert menu?

C: No thank you, could I have the bill please?

W: Absolutely, was everything OK for you?

 

Waiter/ waitress questions:

  • Would you like to see a menu/ the wine list/ dessert list/ drink menu?
  • What would you like to drink?/ Can I get you any drinks?
  • Would you like any appetizers to begin with? / Can I get you any starters?
  • What would you like to order?/ Can I take your order? / Guys, are you ready to order?
  • Can I get you anything else to eat or drink?/ How are you doing for drinks?
  • Would you prefer still or sparkling water?
  • How would you like your steak cooked?
