  • Where is Number 16 School?

    • - Centro Number 16

      Number 16 School is located in number 16 San Miguel Street, on the first floor, right in the centre of the city. The area is easily accessible by bus, as many public transport lines come to this area of the city. In our facilities we teach both traditional English courses, One to One classes (teacher-individual student), and other classes to prepare various official exams.

    • - Business Courses

      If you are considering providing English classes in your company, contact us. Our teachers, all native speakers, will go to your offices to teach English in-company at all levels, as well as preparing staff for the various professional exams that exist today.

      The Academy offers specialised courses aimed at companies such as meetings, sales and marketing, travel and socialising, engineering/technical amongst others. If you are interested, we will provide all the information you need.

    • - Intensive English Courses

      At Number 16 School intensive group class are only given in the months of July, August and September: in versions of 2 or 3 hours per day.

      During the course of the school year, we offer a combination of 1-to-1 lessons combined with group lessons, for guaranteed effectiveness.

    • In the academy:
      English classes: Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 22:00 non-stop.
      English Exam classes: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 22:00 non-stop.
      One to One classes, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 22:00 non-stop.
      English courses for children (4 to 11 years): Monday to Thursday from 17:30 to 19:00 and on Friday from 18:00 to 20:00

  • Duration of the English courses

    English courses in Number 16 School, start every Monday throughout the year and the duration is set by the student. The student chooses whether they have reached the level they were looking for. Number 16 School has 18 levels; you can leave the school at the level you wish or according to your initial objectives.

  • What is the teaching method like?

    With the method used in school Number 16 you will obtain a great level of fluency whether spoken or written. The method taught in English School Number 16 has a specific structure and format which allows you to learn new words quickly in each lesson and to memorise them effortlessly. Grammar is also of great importance in this unique method and is taught in a practical manner, achieved almost automatically. Emphasis is also given to fluency in the reading and writing of all kinds of texts, achieved via classroom readings, or dictations and exercises.

    Groups are divided according to the students' level: from the most basic level to advanced. The maximum number of students per group is 9 people.

    One of the main features distinguishing our language school from other schools, is that we have teachers from different English-speaking countries so that students have English classes with different accents and pronunciations, getting them used to all accents and significantly improving their language learning.

  • Fees and Payment

    Fees are based on the number of hours of class per week. Group classes are offered in versions in 2 or 3 hours per week. But we are flexible and may adapt, depending on the needs of the student.

    For One to One classes we have packs of 10 or 25 hours. With a 25 hour pack, students can alternate One to One classes with group lessons. Intensive courses are held monthly during summer. All classes are to be paid at the time of contracting the service, depending on the number of classes required.

    • - What should I do if I can't come to class for one month?

      The student must notify us 10 days in advance; in which case the student will not be charged the monthly fee.

      After this month, the student may resume classes, but should take into account that the academy does not guarantee a place in the same class as before due to the class' advance, in which case they will be allocated another class in the same level.

    • - Do I have to pay a tuition fee to begin my classes?

      The matriculation fee is a 75 Euros to be paid before starting your course. This is not a payment for access to the course, but is the cost of 2 books that form your course materials.

      One to One courses are exempt from registration.

      The registration fee is a one-off payment. Provided students fill in a form upon leaving the academy, if they decide to return they would not have to pay the tuition fee again.

    • - If I leave temporarily, do I have to repay the tuition fee upon returning to school?

      The registration fee is a one-off payment. Provided students give us notice prior to the 20th day of the month.

  • Is it possible to recuperate classes?

    Classes can be recuperated provided that one week's notice is given at reception: with good cause, provided that a place is available at their level and time slot.

  • I want to attend classes in preparation for a University of Cambridge exam. Who enrols the student for the exam?

    At Number 16 School, we specialise in University of Cambridge exam preparation, and we prepare students to be examined with the greatest success. If you want to register for an exam via the Cambridge website, Number 16 School can register you for the exam you desire. The choice is yours.

  • How can you learn grammar with a spoken method?

    It is difficult, but not impossible to speak a language correctly without basic grammatical knowledge of it. With our method, you learn by putting grammar into use. After a brief explanation and through speaking exercises the prior grammar is implemented. In addition, 5 to 10 minutes of each class is devoted to written exercises. Grammar exercises are given as homework.

  • Do I get a level certificate?

    At the end of each level, the student is assessed, thereby certifying the level change, given to students upon request. This certificate is internationally recognised.

  • Am I regularly assessed?

    Each of the 18 levels are accompanied by an oral and written examination to determine whether the student is able to move on to the next level, or if they need to repeat it.

  • How is the level test?

    The placement test is just like a normal class, using the same method but begining at a basic level with increasing difficulty until the teacher has determined the optimum level for the future student.

  • Can I start an English course in the middle of the month?

    Of course. You can start your English course at any time of year and even in the middle of the month. Our method consists of 18 clearly defined levels allowing us to determine your exact level so that you can join a class that best suits your needs.
